Dear Parents / members,
Over the next few days, you are likely to see an announcement about the future of our Home base The Engine Rooms (formerly Rolls Royce). Please see the bottom of this artical for the official Press Release from Rolls Royce Plc.
I am delighted to say that we are now well into the process of finalising the long-term lease of the site and agreeing the finer details to bring this huge opportunity and milestone to a positive conclusion.
I cannot stress enough that securing a long term lease on a site like the Engine Rooms is like the holy grail for many grassroots football clubs. The journey has been long for Hucknall Sports FC and I am extremely proud to have been a part in delivering this for the children and yourselves to protect and develop the opportunity to play football in Hucknall for many years to come.
I will continue to keep you informed on our progress throughout the season as when possible . It is fair to say there will be changes ahead that we should look forward to as the Club Committee and Trustees aim to provide the best football experience for you all.
Over the coming months, the site will go through a period of change which will include the demolition of the current bar and gym as well as ground and site improvements, namely car parking and lighting. New changing rooms, toilets and seating areas will be created to give us a home venue to be really proud of.
We will continue to operate as a not-for-profit charity football club and as such, any support / advice we can secure in the coming months from our members will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks as always.

Official Press Release from Rolls Royce Plc:
Hucknall Leisure Ltd, Closure Announcement
The management team at The Engine Rooms are delighted to announce that we have agreed a new long-term lease for our football pitches and associated facilities with Hucknall Sports Football Club. The Lease that will run for a minimum of 25 years will provide the stability required for Hucknall Sports FC to plan for future investment in new and improved facilities which will benefit the players, their families and the wider football community throughout Nottinghamshire.
This exciting news comes with the immediate closure and subsequent demolition of the event and wellness facilities making way for much needed additional parking. The aging buildings, dating back decades will be replaced, initially by temporary changing and social facilities with a longer-term plan to support Hucknall Sports FC in securing grants and sponsorship from local and national charities and organisations.
Football is at the heart of the local community, bringing people together, fostering teamwork, and promoting health and well-being. At the Engine Rooms we are proud to play a role in sustaining this tradition by working with Hucknall Sports FC, an organisation that has provided a safe place for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy football since it was founded in 1977.
This relationship aligns with The Engine Rooms parent Company, Rolls-Royce Plc ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and community support. Rolls-Royce recognises the importance of community-based sports facilities and are proud to contribute to the continued success of football in the local area and are convinced this project will ensure that these pitches will remain a vital part of the local sporting landscape for years to come.
We are delighted to share this good news with everyone who loves football and look forward to working with Hucknall Sports FC as they continue to grow, providing a safe and high-quality venue for its many teams to play regular, competitive football in a safe and protected environment.
